CONCEPT:


This Unit will provide a solid foundation for formatting letters and Memorandums in Block and Modified block format. These documents may be transmitted as hard copy through the mail, or they may be sent electonically as e-mail or Facsimile copies (faxes).  .

  • The student will apply language arts skills (mailability
  • standards) to all keyed documents.(TCAP)
  • The student will identify standard letter parts.(TCAP)
  • The student will demonstrate proficiency and speed in
  • keying business correspondence.
  • The student will key personal business letters.
  • The student will apply rules for punctuation and
  • capitalization to all keyed documents.(TCAP)
  • The student will demonstrate proper keying and
  • formatting technique for business documents.
  • The student will key simplified memorandums.

    UNIT OVERVIEW:


  • UNIT THEME: FORMAT PERSONAL-BUSINESS CORRESPONDENCE
  • GRADE LEVEL: 9-12 TIME FRAME: 6 DAYS
  • DAY 1: Personal business documents placement/spacing
  • DAY 2: Process personal business letters
  • DAY 3: Business letters with correct punctuation
  • DAY 4: Simplified memorandums
  • DAY 5: Unarranged business documents (letters/memos)
  • DAY 6: Reteach/Enrichment Activities


    Assessment Preparation: Measure and evaluate document processing skills.


    The student will perform with 90% accuracy on the written and skill performance test.
