Le Français IV-V-VI
Remember our goal in this program: TO BE ABLE TO FUNCTION IN THE FRENCH LANGUAGE.
This year you will continue to improve upon the language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) that you studied and practiced in French I, French II and French III. Hopefully, by the end of the semester, you will notice an improvement far beyond what you may be expecting now. I know which concepts you are familiar with. Now let's see if we can take that familiarity and use it to improve upon your ability to use it: speaking and writing with as little hesitation as possible (in all verb tenses, plus conditional and subjunctive moods), and increasing the speed with which you can comprehend what you read and hear.
We will be using the text book Discovering French: Rouge. In addition, you will study French history. You will also read a novel, and watch two movies.
To improve upon your writing skills, you will write weekly journal entries. Click here for info
If you take advantage of the opportunities you have this semester, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
Reminder: In order to improve your skills, spend a few minutes each night reviewing new concepts and new vocabulary. Practice saying these words out loud. The practice does pay off.
