Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
***Hey! Check out the link for Snowflake Designer at the bottom of this page!***
Here are the homework policies for my classes.
READING CLASS HOMEWORK accounts for between 15% and 25% of your reading grade. Your permanent homework assignment is to read from a book for one hour a week. Occassionally, there will be additional assignments required to be done at home. Textbooks, comic books, and magazines do not count. You must log this reading on a log sheet or notebook paper, and turn it in every Friday. On weeks where there is no school on Friday, reading logs will be due the next day there is school. All reading logs must be signed by a parent or another adult at home. Homework club teachers may sign for reading done in homework club. Reading logs done correctly and turned in on time will receive a 100% grade. Reading logs MAY be turned in late for a reduced grade (60%). In the case of an excused absence, the log may be turned in the day you return to school with no penalty. Be sure to note your absence date(s) on the log!
ENGLISH CLASS HOMEWORK accounts for between 15% and 20% of your English grade, although there are additional ways doing your homework will influence your grade as well! Every week, you will be given a spelling packet on Monday (or the first day we have school that week). This packet is your homework for the week, and it is due the following Monday (or the first day we have school the following week). Occassionally, there will be additional assignments required to be done at home. Special care should be taken to follow the directions in the spelling packet and to do your best, for your score on your spelling packet is your week's homework grade. Your effort on your spelling packet will also be reflected in your weekly spelling and vocabulary test scores, which also account for between 15% and 20% of your English grade. Spelling packets MAY be turned in late for a reduced grade (half credit). In the case of an excused absence, your packet is considered "on time" if you pass it in the day you return to school. Be sure to write your absence date(s) on the front.
