Welcome, parents and students, to our fun first grade web page. Here you will find anything you need to know about our class. This is a new year filled with many fun and exciting possibilities!! I will need everyone's support and cooperation in making the most of our time together this year - parents and students!!! Throughout the year I will be posting grades, field trip notices, requests for bringing in materials, homework reminders, and whatever else strikes me at the moment on this page. Please feel free to visit our class web page often. It will greatly help in your child's educational experience.
Mrs. Lisa's Classroom Rules
1. Have respect for yourself and others.
To me, this rule is all inclusive. It includes not speaking while the teacher is speaking (or while anyone is speaking, for that matter), keeping your hands to yourself, cleaning up after yourself, etc. I don't believe in spitting out a bunch of rules to children. For one thing they usually can't remember them all. On the first day of school, I will go over and over a number of procedures with the children to make the entire year run more smoothly. These procedures should encase any rules they need to know. Procedures will include passing in papers, lining up, answering questions, what to do when it's time to go to centers, etc. They will always know what to do.
