Welcome to the third grade page!!

We are learning many new things this six weeks.  Ask your child about what he or she is learning in school.

Reading nightly is very important.   The more a child reads the better he or she becomes at reading.   Fluency in reading will help your child to understand more of what they are reading.   Please set aside at least fifteen minutes every night to listen to your child read.

A mixed review of addition and subtraction is the focus of our fast facts program this six weeks.  Be sure to practice those facts nightly.  Ten to fifteen minutes of practice every night will help maintain mastery of these facts.

In math, we have been learning to tell time, figure elapsed time, and are now working on reading and making schedules.
On Thursday, October 25, the third grade went to the IMAX at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
We went to the following field trips last year:

3rd Grade Field Trip - Robert A. Vines Science Center
Last year, we went to the Robert A. Vines Science Center.  Click on the link below and take a virtual trip with your child. Students from Mrs. Guzzetta's class have given us a sample of what the students saw and learned.

George Observatory
Third Grade took a field trip last year to the George Observatory at Brazos Bend State Park on May 1, May 2, and May 3. The students really enjoyed themselves.  See the link below for information about Brazos Bend State Park and the George Observatory.
