All social studies classes with Mrs. Kovach will learn to use the PC Laptop resources that come to us through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Teacher Leadership Project. You will use internet search engines and web crawlers, executable file activities, and multimedia software to research, learn, practice skills and produce your own multimedia presentations. There's a lot of hands-on history, geography, economics and sociology that happens in this class along with good ol' book learning.
While you are still enjoying the summer, visit some of the links below. These will help you explore areas of interest and become familiar with sources that can help you with your term projects and class discussions.
You can expect the school year to begin with an exploration of how we create law, and how our law--the U.S. Constitution--was created. You will create a constitution, a government, and an economy with your classmates. What kind of laws do you think we need to govern our classroom? I can't wait to find out!
Have a great vacation! See you in September!
