The Perfect Tense refers to an action that happened or to  something that someone did in the past time.


Perfect:
Caupo MUSSAVIT. The innkeeper MUTTERED.
(perfect=a single action,   completed in the past)

Singular perfect tense endings 1) -i
    2) -isti
    3) -it

Plural perfect tense endings 1) -imus
        2) -istis
   3) -erunt

The perfect stem is the third form of the word, its the third one in the dictionary.

Inspicio, Inspicicere, Inspexi (third form), Inspectus

Three examples of verbs in the perfect tense are:

Docui, Duxi, Dedi.
