Dear Parents, November 29th It was a busy day today. It was a little slow getting back into the swing of things, but we made it. When you are discussing math for the next few nights, talk about perimeter. Perimeter is the distance around an object. We seem to be having trouble remembering that. Today we talked about volume and how this unit of measurement is used to measure the amount of liquid a container holds. We will be looking at cups, pints, quarts, and gallons tomorrow. Let you child play around in the kitchen using cups and quarts. It becomes a more lasting concept that way. We didn't read from our Social Studies book today. However, if you want to get ahead, you can always read ahead. In Science we watched a video on insects. Your child wrote down three facts that he/she remembered from watching the the video. We will be looking at the stages of a grasshopper on Tuesday. We are looking for baby food jars to house our pet mealworms. I will be poking holes in the top of the jar so you can't have them back. Santa's Secret Workshop is just around the corner. Merrily Yours, Melanie Chavaux
