Welcome to Room 3. We hope you will enjoy the class and make great progress in learning English.
We will practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills each day. Sometimes you will work in groups or pairs,
and sometimes you will work alone.
You will learn English faster if you participate in every activity.
FOR BEST SUCCESS:
Come to class every day
Come prepared with supplies: notebook, paper, pencil, pen, dictionary
Set learning goals for yourself each day
Use English in class as much as possible. DO NOT use your native language.
Ask questions when you don't understand
Volunteer to help the teacher and other classmates
Be polite and respectful to your classmates and teachers
Do all the assignments--in class and homework
Obey school rules about dres (clothing), smoking, cell phone, and safety
WHAT IS A GOOD STUDENT?
A good student is like a good worker in a job.
Good workers and good students both need to...
come on time, every day
come prepared to work
set goals for their time
be friendly, cooperative, and respectful
listen carefully to others, take turns speaking
be a team-player, dependable, and responsible
Students are required to attend class regulary.
If you have a job or other reason you need to be absent or leave early, PLEASE TELL THE TEACHER.
Try to make appointments for after class or on Fridays.
If you are going to be absent more than 3 days, tell the teacher or aide.
If you are absent for too many days, the teacher may drop you and
you will have to go on a waiting list to reenter the class.

Please try to attend Computer Lab sessions. They are very important.
A lot of ESL and E.L. Civics lessons are only available in the lab. Don't miss it.
