2. Reflexive Pronouns

{Looking back to see if you were looking back at me.}

A reflexive pronoun looks back over its shoulder at the referent noun and is used as the object of some construction, usually a verb or preposition.

Usually translated into English as myself, yourself, hinself, herself, itself, our selves, themselves. (In the South of the USA, their is a possible construction, you(r) all's self.)

E.g. She hit herself with a hammer. Reflexive as direct object.
Politicians tell lies about themselves. Reflexive as object of the preposition about.
He mumbled curses to himself. Indirect object use of the reflexive.
