BUSINESS COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS

On April 16, the BCIS classes began the final unit of the year -- Presentation Graphics.  They will learn to use the PowerPoint program to create slide shown presentations.

April 20:  Creating new presentations in outline format
           Exercises 5 & 6 (steps 1-3 only), pp. 393-396

April 23:  Format the appearance of text and changing colors
           Exercises 7 & 8, pp. 397-405

April 24:  Setting up a Master Slide and creating draw                 objects
           Exercises 9 & 10, pp. 406-414

April 25:  Transitions, Sounds and Timing -- pp.426-428
           Exercise 16, pp. 436-437 and presentation "KIT"

April 26:  Begin final project -- due no later than May 16             Three sections will be PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE,            with a minimum of 20 slides.
        
The final project will be a multi-slide presentation titled "My Life: Family, Friends and Me."  It will be biographical.

Students:  Start now looking for those pictures -- baby, school, candid, etc. -- that you can include with your presentation.  This is a "fun" project and will be a pleasant end to this year's BCIS program.

MULTIMEDIA

A short presentation on "Music" is an extra credit project due on April 20.  This is a sample presentation (capable of being expanded later) which introduces a single genre of music and shows examples of three artists within the chosen type. Students will include downloads from the Internet to illustrate the work of each artist. 

APRIL 18-MAY 16

The final project is a multi-slide presentation titled "My Life: Family, Friends and Me."  Students will apply all concepts and techniques learned in PowerPoint and will included scanned images, drawings, Internet downloads if applicable, and recorded music.

Students:  Look for those pictures -- baby, school, candid, etc. -- that you can include with your presentation.
