Our weekly assignments shall be posted here so that everyone can have a tentative idea of our game plan for the week. If you are absent, make sure you check to see what is due when you return. There should be no excuses! I can also be reached at my home number should you need me:

This week we will be begin working on our Map Unit.
Monday: Students will bring in their CLEAN milk jugs from home for our JUG CITY NEIGHBORHOOD. Students will create their own classroom neighborhood. Students will learn to write their own addresses.
Tuesday:We will do KWL of maps. Learn about the FNER Rule (Face North East is Right) and learn how to use a compass. Students will need to go home and indicate which rooms are N,S,E, or W depending on where they stand.
Wednesday:We will make COMPASS KIDS!!! Partners will trace each other(make life-size models of themselves)and label the parts of the body onto a bulletin board paper. We will also use this for our math project: measure your own body according to inches and feet.
Thursday:Students will work in cooperative groups to make maps of the playground.
Friday:We will go on a treasure hunt using compasses and group maps!
Language Arts: Read Straw Painting and answer the questions in your reader. Look over your vocabulary.
Math:Do your worksheets on addition and subtraction.
Science: Write 2 sentences describing your caterpillar or butterfly.
Art:We will work on a poetry quilt this week.
