We are currently working on our science unit for nutrition. The students are learning about the food groups and what each group does for our bodies.
We will be celebrating the end of this unit with a vegetable skeleton. A notice about it will be going home shortly.
April is the month where we begin to learn about recycling. Earth Day is April 22nd. Students will learn about the three R's - reduce, recycle and reuse!
We will also be learning about weather. Students will learn about the types of weather and how it affects our area. We will make a graph for the temperature for each day for two weeks and talk about why it changes.
Please keep in mind that nightly reading at home is very important for the students. Reading at home leads to better reading in school. Students need to practice each night for 20 minutes. Many students are doing a great job filling in their reading logs. I have seen a big improvement in the students reading with fluency and comprehension. I am very proud of them!
