Monday 11/06
Objective: Students will continue practicing the steps in the writing process.  They will continue to learn to isolate the senses, using strong verbs and adjectives as they do so.  They will also continue to build upon their understanding of usage involving independent clauses and coordinating conjunctions.

Assignment: 1. Punctuation Exercise #4
2. Free write: There is nothing to Fear but Fear itself.
3. Library Time
4. Sensory Isolation--sight

HOMEWORK: ½ page description of favorite place, using a minimum of four senses.

Objective: Students will continue practicing the steps in the writing process.  They will continue to learn to isolate the senses, using strong verbs and adjectives as they do so.  They will continue to practice the rules of dialogue.

Assignment: 1. Share “Fear” free writes
2. Dialogue Activity—Passage from book.
3. Free write:  “I felt a little sick”—Show-don’t tell
4. Quiet Reading

Homework: dialogue activity—correctly punctuate passage from To Kill a Mockingbird

2. Share Guided imagery activities.
3. Movie soundtrack free writes
4. Quiet Reading

2. Punctuation Activity—IC,ccIC
3. Free write strategies—Lightning picture
4. Looping activity over lightning picture responses.
5. Book report work time
