 05/05 - Happy Cinco de Mayo!  I hope you all have finished the assignments and haven’t found them too difficult.  I believe the answers to the Chapter tests are found in the back of your textbooks so I won’t post them.  E-mail me if this is not the case.  Let me know also if you cannot follow the proofs.  Here are the answers to the proofs: Thursday: 1.  Triangle PCF is congruent to Triangle PBE (Given) 2.  PF is congruent to PE (CPCTC) 3.  PF is perpendicular to CD, PE is perpendicular to AB (Given) 4.  CD is congruent to AB  (Two chords are congruent if they are equidistant from the center) 5.  Arc CD is congruent to Arc AB (Two minor arcs are congruent if their corresponding chords are congruent) Friday: 1.  AB is perpendicular to CD (Given) 2.  Angle ABC is congruent to Angle DCB (Alternate interior angles are congruent if lines are parallel) 3.  The measure of Angle ABC is equal to the measure of Angle DCB (Congruent angles have equal measure) 4.  The measure of Angle ABC is equal to half the measure of Arc AC, the measure of Angle DCB is equal to half the measure of Arc BD (If an angle is inscribed in a circle, then its measure is half of the intercepted arc) 5.  Half the measure of Arc AC is equal to half the measure of Arc BD (Substitution property) 6.  The measure of Arc AC is equal to the measure of Arc BD (Multiplication property) 7.  Arc AC is congruent to Arc BD (Arcs with equal measure are congruent)
