About me

My name is Evelyn Angley and I was born in Manhattan, New York.  I lived in New York for thirteen years.  I am of Puerto Rican descent.  I was immersed in the language from an early age.  My parents moved to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico in 1970.  There I attended and graduated from a Catholic high school. I graduated with a BS in biological science from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus and also received a commission in the United States Air Force in 1979.  I honorably served our country for ten years.  I had assignments both here in the United States and Europe.  Later as a dependent spouse I was afforded the opportunity to live and work in Japan and Korea.  I am married to now retired Air Force colonel Michael Angley.  Mike retired about five years ago after honorably serving our country for 26 years and is now pursuing another passion which is to become a writer.  He currently has two of the trilogy books out named "Child Finder"and "Child Finder Resurrection."  We have three wonderful young adults.  Kiernan our oldest is a fourth year student at CSU, Ft. Collins and is pursuing an acting career and business management degree.  Kyle is a second year music major  student at UNC and Meghan is a Senior at Pine Creek high school.  Once all three of our children were full time students I decided to return back to the work force.  I worked as a special education para-professional for two years in Nebraska.  This is when I discovered my love for teaching and decided to return to college to work on obtaining a teaching degree (goes to show you one is never too old to learn).  This year will mark my fifth year of teaching at The Classical Academy.  I am fluent in both English and Spanish. After twelve permanent changes of station we came to Colorado Springs.  We have been living here for seven years.  We love it so much we decided to plant our roots here.  I am looking forward to making your acquaintance and in guiding you through the worthy adventure of learning Spanish.
