This online monograph course is designed to meet the continuing education requirement for the study of medical/medication error for New York and Florida pharmacist licensure or renewal, and to increase their awareness of this issue and methods by which the likelihood of error in their work environment may be decreased. Medication Errors: Understanding the Problem and Identifying Reduction Methods is a 3-hour course designed for pharmacists practicing in various settings in the healthcare industry. Through this study of medication errors, root cause analysis, error prevention strategies, and patient safety initiatives, pharmacists will recognize their role in the national effort to reduce medical errors, particularly those involving medications, and become aware of methods to achieve this.
