Below are several question covering Thoreau's Walden. For the multiple choice questions, select the BEST answer from those provided. For the short answer questions, you need not write more than a paragraph--don't get carried away.

Notice that each question has a letter at the end. These correspond to the level of thought required. (L) Literal level, (I) Interpretive level, (E) Evaluative level. Each answer will be scored as follows: (L) Literal = 1 pt, (I) Interpretive = 2 pts, (E) Evaluative = 3 pts.

The quiz is timed--you have an hour and thirty minutes, which should be plenty of time. If, for some reason, your lose your connection and have to re-start the quiz you may do so. However, the quiz will no longer be available after 6:00pm Monday.
