Identifying Subject of the Sentence--- --ing words
Words that end in -ING can be confusing because -ing words can do many things.
Singing is my favorite past-time. (SINGING is the subject of the sentence)
Singing quietly to herself, Ms. Sahli drove away from the ocean. (SINGING is part of the adjective phrase: singing quietly to herself)
The children are SINGING Michael Jackson hits from the 1980's. (SINGING is part of the verb phrase: are singing)
