When you use lines of poetry in your own writing, use the correct citation format: In Stanza Two of "The United Fruit Co.," the speaker uses wordplay and repetition to compare tyrants to pesky insects: "it ...attracted the dictatorship of the flies,/Trujillo flies, Tacho flies,/Carias flies, Martinez flies...(16-23)." The word flies is used as both a noun and a verb.
