A few years ago, in Moab, Utah, Gladys Christensen had an extraordinary idea. She thought that she would build her home in a rock!
In the desert of Utah there was a huge sandstone rock.
Gladys and her husband began digging rooms in the rock. Fifty thousand feet of sandstone were removed before the house was finished. Outside you can only see a door and a couple of windows. But inside, there are fourteen rooms. Each room has electricity and wall-to-wall carpeting. It is a modern and comfortable home.
Gladys' home is now open for visitors to see. If you are ever near Moab, Utah, stop in and see the home in a rock. A few years ago, in Moab, Utah, Gladys Christensen had an extraordinary idea.
