06-CC Using States of Matter
Matter may take the form of a solid, a liquid, or a gas. (also plasma) Each of the three main forms has different properties. People make use of these properties. For example, wood is a solid that can be cut and sed for building a house or buringing. Sometimes people change the state of matter to do jobs. For example, water is changed into steam to produce electricity in a power plant. Look around your community. Find three examples of matter used in its solid state. Record your observations below. Do the same for liquid and gas states. Then add any examples of how people change the state of matter to do a job.
