Sounds of the German Alphabet

Test your knowledge of the phonetic similarities and differences of German and English! Begin with the German letter/ or letter combination. Then match its English counterpart, if it exists. (Sometimes it doesn't.) After you'v tried this activity, go to the "languageguide" link and pick any category or the "3 spatzen" link. There listen to the sounds of the words pronounced and see how they correlate to their corresponding German letter combinations shown on the monitor. You'll see, I think, that they're consistent with the rules we've been learning!
