Atlases

Atlases are books containing detailed maps with information about cities and countries.In an atlas you canfind out such things as climate, industries, natural resources and population of a particular country. You can also learn the location of lakes and mountains.

There are several kinds of atlases. Some contains maps of all the countries of the world. Others deal with just one country. Economic atlases explain the trade routes, natural resources, export and import of the world's nations. Historical atlases show the history of countrie through a series of maps.

An atlas is valuable in helping you find out about the world you live in. If you don't own an atlas, you can always find one in your school or local library.
