Dear 5th Graders and Parents: Welcome to Week Sixteen in the 5th Grade! This page is intended to update you on weekly assignments and general information. It is updated on Sunday evenings. Please keep in mind that plans DO change sometimes, according to the pace of the class; therefore, check your child's agenda if in doubt. Have a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving and a relaxing time off! Approximate plans for the upcoming week follow. 5A/B Reading: We are taking a break from our regular Reading textbook. Monday: In conjunction with read-aloud literature, we are finishing the watching of Matilda. Tuesday: 5A/B Science: This class has no assigned pace, but is run according to what the children can handle. We are concluding a study of Animal Diversity, which will be tested on Monday, Nov. 23. Monday: Brain Drain Review - Classifying/clarifying topics. Tuesday: Chapter 4 Test Wednesday: Religion: We finish a study of the Paschal Mystery. Monday: Review and Chapter 6 Test. Tuesday: Discipline with Purpose lesson helping students distinguish between leadership and bossiness. Wednesday: Prayer Service, 10:30. English: This week, students begin a study of nouns. Monday: Common/proper formations, pp. 82-83. HW: p. 103, Set B. Tuesday: Intro to possession, pp. 84-85. Vocabulary/Spelling: On Monday and Tuesday, we will do some vocabulary-expanding word fun games. "I give thanks to my God always, remembering you in my prayers."
