Course Description
There is no developmental phase more critical to mental health than that of 0-5. Infants and children who do not receive physical, emotional and social bonding experiences can develop a mental disorder known as Reactive Attachment Disorder. This disorder is associated with symptoms ranging from depression and anxiety to antisocial behaviors such as bullying, lying and stealing. This class will examine the contemporary theories of etiology of Reactive Attachment Disorder. Goals & Objectives: As a result of attending this session, students will identify:
- Prenatal risk factors associated with the development of R.A.D..
- Developmental risk factors associated with the development of R.A.D.
- Risk factors in caregivers.
