Second graders have studied line and drawn line animals, learned about color and used oil pastels to color a color wheel, created and decorated with Indian designs clay pinch pots, painted a Christmas tree, chose a Catholic Icon to draw then paint, painted a desert scene focusing on desert plants, learned about artist Georges Seurat and Pointillism, and practiced drawing three-dimensional forms which satisfied the following Diocesan standards: Strand 1, C-1, PO-a (line in art), b, (color in art), and d, (form in art) C-3, PO-1 (drawing), PO-2 (painting), PO-3 (printmaking), C-4, PO-a (sculpture).
