WELCOME TO CEIP! This web site has been set up to inform parents, students, and others about an exciting opportunity that is available in career exploration. The CEIP class can assist high school juniors and seniors with the decision of "What do I want to be when I grow up?" WHAT IS CEIP? *a half year course scheduled during Block 8 *1/2 unit of credit *8 weeks of class work and 12 weeks of unpaid internship experience *a partnerhsip between CNS High school and businesses in our community WHY SHOULD I TAKE IT? CIEP can assist students with: *developing positive attitudes related to a specific career area and the job opportunities related to that career. *clarifying their career goals and attitudes toward career planning through practical, hands-on work experiences within the local business community. *increasing their understanding of the knowledge, responsibiliites and skills required to succeed in a given career area. *applying the knowledge and skills acquired in school to a work environment. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS? *CEIP is open to high school juniors and seniors at least 16 years of age. *Students must complete an application and be interviewed by the CEIP coordinator to be accepted into the program. Only then will the course be added to your schedule by your Counselor. *A passing average, good attendance and attitude, responsibility and dependability are important traits for acceptance into CEIP. *Reliable transportation is a must. Students are responsible for getting to the work site from school. *Students need time in their schedule during and after school for the class and internship experience. *Successful completion of 27 hours of in-class instruction and 54 hours of non-paid work site experience are required. HOW DO I SIGN UP? *CEIP applications are available in each Guidance Office and the Career Center. *Completed applications should be submitted to Mrs. Bakker, CEIP Coordinator, through the Main Office. *Be present for an interview with the CEIP Coordinator on the date assigned.
