Congratulations Edu 383 student participants. This is our final class meeting and final activity. Thank you all for your willingness to learn new ways to teach with and about technology. The purpose of this exercise is to provide you the opportunity to experience the interactive capability of the "Quia" program. Quia is pronounced: key-ah. This is a web-based program that allows you to create activities, quizzes, surveys and class home pages.

You will begin by viewing a PowerPoint presentation with the instructor and continue by registering for a free 30-day trial of use for this program. Your task this evening will be to create an activity, quiz, survey or homepage (or all four if you wish) using the Quia Program. Use content and strategies to support your future teaching area and as presented by the instructor.

You may choose to work with a partner (pairs), in a triad (a group of three), or individually to complete this exercise. You will work and complete this activity this evening during this final class session. Once you have finished your assignment, forward it to me by e-mail so that I may share it with your classmates.

Please be reminded that Quia is a temporary (30-day free trial). If you wish to keep a record of the work you do in a more permanent manner I suggest you place a copy of your work and/or a link to your e-folio web site or Weebly.com web page.

Below, I have attached a few examples and web sites that may give you ideas on how to complete your Quia assignment. I listed "how-to" web sites in the "useful links" area below to assist you as well.

Using Quia.com you may include graphics, sound and photos in your designs. Here is an example of a photo of the hive. I took these photos from a beehive I removed from my deck. I actually shared the beehive with the children so they could touch it, then, I placed the photo in their Quia project assignment. Bees.

This is a Quia.com class page I created for use with my 4th graders, check it out.
