Time to Shine

Thank you to everyone who worked to make Time to Shine a success this year!

What is Time to Shine?

Students at the primary (K-2) and elementary (3-4) schools meet in interest-based small groups for hands-on learning experiences that mirror, as closely as possible, the work of practicing professionals and hobbyists.

This year, students will select one class to participate in, and each class will meet three times, on January 25, February 1, and February 8th from 2:10 to 2:55.

The goals of Time to Shine are to:
1) Give every student the opportunity to experience success in an area of interest
2) Introduce students to skills and content that are as authentic to each area of study as possible (exploring job possibilities, MO Standard 4.8)
3) Get to know new people through exploration of shared interests
4) Value the members of our school community for their diverse areas of expertise, including skills that are not traditionally academic

Students will be given a "catalog" of course descriptions to choose from. Students should list their top four choices, in order of preference. Students must choose four possible classes. They will be placed in ONE of the four classes they select, but not necessarily their first choices.
