This page will contain messages and links to the lectures and assignments. 915/03 - OOPS! The sixth edition of Kimmel and Messner' book Men's Lives did not include R.W. Connell's article. When I designing the syllabus, I had only the publisher's pre-publication informaiton to go by. So.... I'll discuss it in class. There will be some notes on this web site as well. 10/10/03 - Some study suggestions for the test - Use these lecture notes as the basis for your studying. The test consists of 40 multiple choices and 2-3 essay questions. Since we did not cover all the information on gender and education this past Wednesday, there will only be questions on what we did cover: the definitions of formal and hidden curriculum, the definition of micro-inequities in education, Title IX, and same-sex education. There are 10 essay questions. You will need to answer 2, but I strongly suggest you answer a third for extra credit. The supplemental readings (supplemental to Renzetti and Curran)provide 8 of the essay questions. Two others come from the text. 11/23/03 - All extra credit work needs to be handed in by December 3rd. You can e-mail me any assignements. Remember no class, November 19th. For December 3rd, read the two articles in the Vannoy book.
