will provide students with project-based instruction that introduces you to the principles of business in the 21st century while refreshing your keyboarding skills. The curriculum will help students to use computers effectively in your life, while providing a connection of computer science and business concepts. Throughout the nine weeks students will engage in the following units enriched with "Royal Teaching and Learning."

Business Foundations: Financial Literacy-Students will examine and apply the basics of economics and personal finance. Students will learn how money is made, spent and money management skills. Students will take virtual field trips to the US Mint and the Federal Bureau of Engraving. The Queen will demonstrate and review how to write a check, complete a deposit slip and calculate a check register. Students will apply money management skills by engaging in a culminating project "A Day at the Royal Retail Resort."

Computer Applications training:
Lords and Ladies will show mastery of computer application software that encompasses word processing, spreadsheet and desktop publishing. Skills will be demonstrated by creating projects. Students will design and create their own check using Microsoft Publisher. Students will create graphs and charts to display their typing test results from their keyboarding training. Students will utilize web base games and activities to learn vital information to prepare for periodic evaluations.

21st Century Skills:
Lords and Ladies will demonstrate employability skills such as working in a team, problem solving and organizational skills.

Literacy in the Content:
Students will enhance reading in all curriculum areas. Students will use research and technology to support writing. Students will use the writing the process to develop, revise and evaluate writing. Students will build vocabulary knowledge.

Keyboarding and Ergonomics-Lords and Ladies will utilize the software "Microtype 4" to develop and enhance their keyboarding skills. The curriculum is differentiated and student's level is determined by their experience and skills. Students will develop speed and accuracy while learning proper keyboarding techniques. Students will complete typing tests or competitions every Tuesday and Thursday. Each test students will need to obtain a specific GWAM (Gross Words A Minute) while maintaining the standard accuracy level of no more than 5 errors. Some students will master typing through practice. Mastery consist of 30-35 GWAM with no more than 3 errors. Below is the evaluation scale for all trainings;

Above 30 GWAM=90 or higher A
29-20 GWAM=89-80 B
19-14 GWAM=79-74 C
13-10 GWAM=73-70 D
Below 9 GWAM=69-below F
