FOURTH GRADE:
During the month of May we will learn a series of basic adjectives in both their masculine and feminine forms. There will be a quiz on the adjective meanings on May 11. We will also be watching a video of a familiar fairy tale, and we will spend the last week of classes doing a full review of the semester's work through written exercises and a variety of class activities.
After our final class on May 20, the students will bring home their textbooks. I do hope that parents will enjoy looking over the fine work that has been done by all.
Merci, et au revoir!
FIFTH GRADE:
Great results on the verb quiz! Our work during May is with more -ER verbs, the negative, and an interrogative structure. The final quiz on May 13 will test the use of -ER verbs and the negative. We will conclude our fifth grade lessons with an introduction to the vocabulary of family members.
Since we continue to use the same textbook in sixth grade, it will be crucial for each student to find a "safe" place to store the book over the long vacation. I also hope that the students will find occasion to practice their French over the summer months.
Bon travail, classe! Au revoir; bonnes vacances!
SIXTH GRADE:
During the month of May we will continue to practice calendar material and we will learn several weather expressions. The calendar tests were great! A final written evaluation will be given on May 12. This will be in the form of a test on weather expressions, the verb FAIRE, and the four seasons.
Textbooks will go home with the students after the last class on May 20. These belong to the students and may be kept at home. For those students continuing French in seventh grade, a new text will be issued in September.
This year's class made great progress! Au revoir, et amusez-vous pendant les vacances!
