Virginia and United States Government
Welcome to Virginia and United States Government. Students will study the origins and the functions of the Virginia and United States political systems. They will be able to demonstrate knowledge of our United States and Virginia Constitutions. They will be knowledgeable of other significant and historical documents which contributed to the development of our system and become aware of the structure and operation of both levels of federalism. Students will understand how economic and political policies are developed in our country and be able to compare these policies to those of other countries within the international community. Students should gain the ability to exercise critical thinking skills in order to make positive economic and political decisions for our society.
