   “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”…we hear this verse on the radio so often during this season. You can be certain that our second graders are in agreement with this old favorite song as we will read, sing and embrace the winter season with wonder and joy.
     Our units of study will be as follows:
Math- Place value and fractions
Science- Magnets
Scott Foresman Reading-Unit 3-Teamwork theme
Social Studies-A taste of how customs and communities change over time but this will be studied in depth with a field trip to the Yorktown Victory Center in the spring.
      Please check our calendar for specific events. Thank you for helping your child adjust to the new reading logs. They really are easier once your child gets the hang of it. Continue to encourage good handwriting in homework. AR progress will be noted on the interim reports.
