January 9, 2012--State Assessment wrap up. Begin Pre-Constitution reading and packet covering Chapter 7, Sec. 1. Power point trifold notes in class covering the NW Ordinance, Shay's Rebellion, and The Articles of Confederation. Remember, Constitution letter with parent signature due Tuesday and parent signed progress report for bonus due tomorrow!!!

January 10, 2012--Parent signed progress reports and Constitution letters are due! Continue working in class on guided reading packet, Chapter 7, Sec.1. and finishing trifold notes. Trifold notes are due for a grade.
January 11, 2012--First 1/2 of class will be work time to finish Chapter 7, Sec. 1. Trade and grade packet second 1/2 of class. Packets will be collected at the end of the class period.
January 12, 2012--Define the 6 goals of the Preamble, vocabulary group work using Preamble packet, HMWK: Preamble Scramble due tomorrow. Use a highlighter for this.
January 13, 2012-Preamble Day! By the end of the class period students should be able to sing the Preamble! Preamble Scramble due!

January 19th, 2012-Reading and discussing Chapter 7, Sec. 2 & 3 in class, begin work on crossword puzzle. Packet and crossword both due tomorrow!
January 20th, 2012--Trade/grade/collect Chapter 7, Sec. 2 & 3 and crossword puzzle.

January 23, 2012--Copy assignments into your agenda! Go over as a class the assessment from Friday. Now is the time to learn from your mistakes! If you were absent on Friday, you will take your target check in the media center at this time. Use one of the 6 computers available to you and report your score to Mr. Kuhn. Mr. Kuhn will sign you out in a few minutes. Finish your Chapter 7-Sec. 2-3 crossword. You may work with a partner to finish this assignment--due tomorrow. IF you are finished with the crossword, study your note cards with a partner!
January 24th, 2012--Begin Power point and notes on the Executive Branch. Learn everything you can about the branch our President is the head of! Fill in guided power point notes during discussion. Notes should be filled in completely, so please pay attention. Begin Executive Branch Crossword puzzle. Due Thursday.

January 25th, 2012--Continue Executive Branch power point and guided notes. Study your note cards! Work on the Executive Branch crossword puzzle. This is due tomorrow.
January 26th, 2012--Review Executive Branch. Trade and grade crossword puzzle. Study for Executive Branch Target Check that is tomorrow!!! This will be on paper/pencil, NOT on Quia. Use your power point notes and note cards to study! Remember the target checks are worth 200 points! Begin reading about the 7 "Hats of the President". Tomorrow you will need to bring in items to decorate your hat with your assigned group!
January 27th, 2012--Executive Branch review and quiz on paper and pencil today. Do your best!!! Trade and grade as time allows. Divide up into assigned Hats of the President groups. Your goal in your group today is to design a hat showing the President's job that you have been assigned. Be creative! You may draw pictures, use computer clip art, scraps of things from home, etc. Hats are due Monday at the end of the class.
January 30th, 2012--Design a Presidential hat! Group work. Hat is due at the end of the day today! "Model" the hat for the class to see if your classmates can guess the job your group was assigned. Hats will be graded during this modeling time. Study note cards!!!!
January 31st, 2012--What is the Electoral College? Use small pamplets in plastic tubs on long back top book shelf, read, and discuss. T-shirt notes! Small group activity. We will finish the lesson on Wed.
February 1, 2012--Watch Schoolhouse Rock "I'm Going to Send My Vote to College" and finish t-shirt notes for electoral college lesson. Notes are due today.
February 2, 2012-Begin Legislative Branch, Article I, power point and guided notes. Discuss information as we are going over power point. Study your note cards every night!
