Week of September 18, 2006
Days With Frog and Toad, by Arnold Lobel, is a charming story of two special friends. During the course of the story, Toad learns that even though he and Frog are the best of friends, there are times when each of them need to be alone.
Although the Frog and Toad series is fiction, the books provide a wonderful basis for learning more about real frogs and toads. There is a wealth of enrichment material included in the Useful links section at the bottom of this week's Class Page. I hope you'll find something of interest in the links I've included.
Your child can review and practice the vocabulary words and definitions for Days With Frog and Toad by clicking the Java Games link in the Quia activities section. It may be helpful to print out the list of terms (vocabulary words and meanings) from the game choices page so your child can refer to them as needed during practice. Once your child can easily match the words and definitions, try playing the Columns Game where vocabulary words are used in the context of sentences.
