Week of April 2, 2007
Max Found Two Sticks, by Brian Pinkney, is the story of a boy who makes music by beating common household objects with two twigs he finds on the sidewalk in front of his apartment. Max drums out rhythms on his thighs, on buckets, boxes, soda bottles, and garbage cans. He is thrilled when the drummer in a marching band gives him a pair of real drumsticks to make his music.
