2011-2012 Updates /January - May notes to cadets:
So far this year we've had a great time! We've had tons of activities, created a drill team and an air rifle team and competed against other units already. Our cadets are active and proudly strut around campus in uniforms. Can you believe the year is almost half over? It's time for some encouragement and heads up about the rest of the year and summer activities.
Don't get weary wearing your uniform! Remember, it's a privilege to wear a uniform--not only that, it's a must grade to pass! Secondly, participate, participate, participate! When the end of the year comes and awards are passed out they are award to cadets with good grades, impeccable uniform records, and that have taken advantage of JROTC to participate and grow!
The third quarter and fourth quarters will mean an end to the air rifle program and a fresh start preparing for upcoming drill competitions. Curriculum-wise, the leadership portion will focus on financial management and corps activities and in aerospace you will continue our investigaton of space. But, also we'll add first aid, CPR, safety, prep for after high school and a global studies focus on the Western Hemisphere.
Be sure to wander around this page to the related links! You will see slide shows of cadets in action, quizzes on the assessment page, Air Force related sites, interesting topics, a blog with letters from former students, and games to play (related to the curriculum of course)! The games, links, and assessments will change with the curriculum through out the year.
