Welcome to a study of the week that changed the world! My hope is that through our study, you'll do more than just learn the sequence of events. I hope that you'll see that Jesus was masterfully controlling every move. Once the Jewish leaders had decided that Jesus must die, it was no coincidence that the perfect opportunity presented itself at the Passover. This was the Jewish festival that foreshadowed the momentous events of the Crucifixion Week - it was God's visual aid to help us all understand Jesus' sacrifice. From the incident that prompted the death warrant against Jesus - to the manner, time, and location of his arrest - to the very moment of his death on the cross - through all of this, Jesus remained firmly in control. His sacrifice was voluntary, fulfilling at every step the divine plan.
