Girls finished season 20-7, winning the District championship before losing to eventual state champion runner-up Stockton. We won the conference title and earned first place in the Higginsville Tournament.
St. Pius will begin the 2012-2013 season with 2nd year head coach -- Mr. Bob Fenzel, who succeeded John Coakley resigned in 2011 to move to Texas. Sarah Hopkins-Chery remains the JV coach and varsity assistant, and Richard Murphy will remain as freshman coach and varsity assistant.
The 2012-2013 girls team will comprise several returning letter winners: Rose Monachino, Bailey Thomas, Natalie Ross, and Danielle Kaullen. These four will compete with underclassmen from last year's junior varsity [Record 9-10] and freshmen team [Record 17-2] for varsity playing time.
St. Pius X will continue to be 3A as the new classifications for 2012-2013 now verify on the MSHSAA website. The District Meet for 2013 remains undetermined at this time.
