St. Pius will begin the 2011-2012 season with a new head coach -- Mr. Bob Fenzel, who was promoted from varsity assistant after 2nd year head coach John Coakley resigned to move to Texas. Sarah Hopkins-Chery will be the JV coach and varsity assistant, and Richard Murphy will remain as freshman coach and varsity assistant.
The 2011-2012 girls team will comprise several returning letter winners: Seniors Lexie Oak, Abby Leighty, Celia Civella, Rachel Shepard and Maria Dawes will compete for varsity playing time along with juniors Rose Monachino, Bailey Thomas, Natalie Ross, Danielle Kaullen as well as other underclassmen from last year's junior varsity.
St. Pius X will continue to be 3A as the new classifications for 2011-2012 now verify on the MSHSAA website. The District Meet for 2012 will be at O'Hara High School.
