Poetry Unit Goals:
(1) Learn poetry terms and be able to create your own and identify in poems and contemporary lyrics.
(2) Learn how to annotate a poem while reading (also known as "marginalia").

Tasks:
(1) Practice and learn poetry terms by using the activities and quizzes on this site. Take the test on these terms when you are ready.
(2) Create a poetry anthology organized around a particular theme (such as "Love" or "War" or "Anger") in which you include six poem or songs, annotations of each poem/song, responses to each poem, and an introduction. Models of responses and the introduction will be provided.
