Creative Writing: A Place, an Argument, and Making Up

In Chapter 1 of Of Mice and Men, Lennie and George are making their way to a new ranch. They spend the night by a stream -- Steinbeck describes it with detail and affection. George and Lennie talk, and Lennie says things that make George realize how mad he is with Lennie. But he goes too far with his anger, and feels bad. Lennie uses George's remorse to get him to say what he wants to hear from George, and George relents and talks about a dream they share in common.
