Dear 6th Graders,
4/4/07
Tuesday, 4/17, and Thursday, 4/19: We will be working on an in-class project for our Latin American unit.
Thursday, 4/18: Latin American food tasting. If you would like to bring a food item to share--strictly voluntary--we will be "sampling" Latin American foods in class. I will provide chips and salsa, so bring anything else that you would like for a "tasting." This will NOT be a meal, so it is only necessary to bring enough for a spoonful, or so, to share with each of your classmates!
4/20/07--Unit 3 Test over the Regional Atlas and Vocabulary packets that you were given in class on Tuesday, 4/3. Be sure to study and prepare well over the next two weeks!!!
***You are NOT required to learn the import and export information on the Data Table Activity, but you are required to DO the page. It is important to be informed about the major exports and imports of each country.

2. Check out the REI site to help find information on what you would need for your EVEREST SURVIVAL PLAN. Remember that you are responsible for 1 Day of the expedition and your teammate is responsible for Day 2. Separate grades will be given to each person for their plan.

Friday, 9/22: Test over the skills you've been learning and practicing in the following lessons:

*Lesson 2: Importance of Distance and Relative Location;
*Lesson 3: Locating Places Using a Grid
*Map and Globe Terms
Remember that different maps will be used, but you will be using the skills that you've been working on in class. Review the skills and check for your understanding.
