March 14, 2016 Dear PAR Panel: This website was especially designed for you to share my knowledge, experiences, and teaching repertoire as a new teacher to the Prince George's County School System. It is my goal that this website will be more informative and insightful for the 5th grade students that I have been assigned for the 2015-16 school year. Currently I have 23 students. About 29% of my class was moved within the school. Meaning students were shuffled around from different classes until about Dec 16, 2015. One student transferred from the school. One student transferred in February 2016. As a new teacher in the county, school culture and environment has a big impact on both teacher and student. The environment in which a child is in affects them mentally, emotionally, and academically. Regarding, environments in which the students interact at school are cafeteria in the morning from 7:30am- 7:45am, specials class for 30 minutes each day, cafeteria for lunch 30 minutes each day, and all other times with the classroom teacher. As a new teacher, I have not and was not assigned a new teacher mentor. The New Teacher's Academy at Suitland ES met on September 9, 2015 and there were no meetings since that time. My first formal observation was conducted on September 30, 2015. After my post observation conference, I was told by the administrator/principal she was recommending me to the PAR program because this would be great for my growth and development. I met my PAR Consulting teacher on November 18, 2016 I have taken at least six courses in ERO for professional development: Transcript Information By Credit Type CPD SRN: 9007616201 Course Code: CPD 90076 Course Title: Human Sexuality at the Elementary Level Credits: 1.00 Hours: 15.00 Completed: Oct 27, 2015 Certificate Credit Type Total Credits Total Hours CPD 1.00 15.00 Professional Development - No Credit SRN: 2005216216 Course Code: 20052 Course Title: Writing Workshop Training Credits: 0.00 Hours: 0.00 Completed: Nov 07, 2015 Certificate SRN: 2005316206 Course Code: 20053 Course Title: Writing Fundamentals Demonstration Lessons Credits: 0.00 Hours: 0.00 Completed: Dec 08, 2015 Certificate SRN: 2554316201 Course Code: 25543 Course Title: Teacher Evaluation Support Session (Teachscape) Credits: 0.00 Hours: 0.00 Completed: Sep 15, 2015 Certificate SRN: 7811516201 Course Code: T3VIRTUAL 78115 Course Title: Google Forms in the Classroom (ONLINE) Credits: 0.00 Hours: 0.00 Completed: Nov 17, 2015 Certificate SRN: 7814016201 Course Code: T3VIRTUAL 78140 Course Title: Google Drive Overview Credits: 0.00 Hours: 0.00 Completed: Sep 30, 2015 At least 86% of students met the SLO Objectives SRI Testing data: Class Roster (You can copy and paste a table here or create one using the tools in the box below.): * STUDENT ID Last Name First Name Lexile Points Target Score Post Test Score Met Target Score Didn’t Meet Target Score 100313529 FB 1) ALSTON TI’NYA 775 785 1000 X 100262343 FH 2) CHAVARRIA AMY 1035 1045 1155 X 100314435 FB 3) EASTER TONAI 555 565 100344818 4) HERNANDEZ AMAYA JENNIFER 705 715 690 X 100257396 MB 5) JENIFER JOHNBENJAMIN 675 685 725 X 100318014 MB 6) LEWIS DAVON 605 615 100243119 MB 7) MARSHALL A’LONTA’ 725 735 740 X 100263902 FB 8) MOORER MALIJAH 670 680 875 X 100373140 FB 9) PAUL JENNA-NICOLE 485 495 755 X 100226919 MB 10)SENIOR ALEJANDRO 640 650 835 X 100208267 11) STRANGE TEVARI 970 980 1110 X 100233745 FB 12)THOMPSON JADA 505 515 690 X 100266825 MB 13) WALKER TIMOTHY 670 680 575 X 100250110 FB 14) WARD KAILYN 625 635 640 X 100261877 FB 15) WARD RAEA 690 700 795 X 100257400 16) WINTERS KEYONNA 725 735 815 X Percent Meeting Goal 12/14 86% Math SLO Data: STUDENT ID Last Name First Name Math Diagnostic Pre-test Target Score Post Test Score Met Target Score Didn’t Meet Target Score 100313529 FB 1) ALSTON TI’NYA 38% 43% 58% met 100262343 FH 2) CHAVARRIA AMY 56% 61% 76% met 100314435 FB 3) EASTER TONAI 31% 36% transfered 100344818 4) HERNANDEZ AMAYA JENNIFER 20% 25% 44% met 100257396 MB 5) JENIFER JOHNBENJAMIN 29% 34% 38% met 100318014 MB 6) LEWIS DAVON 29% 34% transfered 100243119 MB 7) MARSHALL A’LONTA’ 22% 27% 38% met 100263902 FB 8) MOORER MALIJAH 18% 23% 40% met 100373140 FB 9) PAUL JENNA-NICOLE 27% 32% 47% met 100226919 MB 10) SENIOR ALEJANDRO 20% 25% 18% Not met 100208267 11) STRANGE TEVARI 47% 52% 62% met 100233745 FB 12) THOMPSON JADA 20% 25% 38% met 100266825 MB 13) WALKER TIMOTHY 22% 27% 49% met 100250110 FB 14) WARD KAILYN 13% 18% 42% met 100261877 FB 15) WARD RAEA 29% 34% 22% Not met 100257400 16) WINTERS KEYONNA 24% 29% 49% met Percentage Total 86% 14% Multiplication Assessment Data September 25, 2015 s Possible Low Score High Score Mean Median # of Students 100.2 6.68 (6.7%) 100.2 (100%) 63.005 (62.9%) 62.625 (62.5%) 22 Multiplication Assessment Data November 24, 2015 Overall Summary Low Score High Score Mean Median # of Students 1.05 (1%) 100.8 (100%) 78.65 (78%) 92.4 (92%) 21 Besides teaching and learning, gauging the students opinion and soliciting feedback is very important to me. Throughout the school year I administer teacher made surveys at least one per quarter. I would like to briefly share results from my December 2015 survey. Parental involvement is extremely important. I have initiated a variety of activities to involve parent participation. Through remind.com has proved to be more effective, than not using it. Most parents and kids are using technology and social media to communicate. I would like to show some samples of messages to parents. Assessment Data from March 2, formal observation by the consulting teacher was 83% was the class average. 100%=9 90%=1 80%= 1 70%= 1 60%=1 50%= 1 40%=1 30%=1 It is possible that some students could have their heads on desk and still be attentively listening. We stress positive body language in the learning environment. In order to further engage students in learning, I have written and received a grant proposal for STEM. Link listed at the bottom of page. Parent surveys are administered at least 4 times during the year. Mr. Houston also, uses Remind.com to communicate more effectively with parents. Phone calls and parent conferences are also initiated. Results of a recent parent survey: Survey: Suitland ES Parent Survey March 10, 2016 11 respondents took this survey.
