CONTACTING THE TEACHER
You can always send me a note via your child, but the best way to reach me is through email: Annmargareth.Marousky@browardschools.com . I check email continuously throughout the day and evening and can get back to you as soon as possible. I do not check my voice mail often and it is not a reliable method by which to send me important information.

Volunteers
If you choose to become an on campus volunteer, please remember to go online and complete the volunteer registration form. This MUST BE DONE EACH YEAR. Please go to www.getinvolvedineducation.com and complete the information. Since this volunteer application takes time to process, you need to complete it as soon as possible. You will NOT be permitted on campus or on field trips as a volunteer if this application has not been processed and you name submitted to our school as being cleared.
AR Testing
AR is an online component that supports our school’s goal to get every child to read. Once your child has read their book, they can then take a short 5-10 question quiz on the book. My AR goal for our class has 2 parts: first, I want the students reading as many books as possible on a 4.0 or higher level; secondly, I want the students to score an 85% or higher on each test they take. As the class is aware, the higher the score, the greater the number of points they can receive.
Each month I select a boy and a girl to attend the AR Party thrown by the school. The school also gives a certificate to the class that achieves the highest points for their grade level. I am a bit competitive and I know the class LOVES to be recognized on the Morning Announcement. The class gets recognition and the students become better readers … we all win =0)
The Monthly Book Report
Each month your child is expected to read an age appropriate AR book that is a level 4.5 or higher. These books can be found almost anywhere and your child can check on-line to verify the title and reading level.
Once they have finished reading the AR book, they are to take an AR test on that title by 5 pm on the specified due date (see below). They may take the test at home or at school during their free time. The students have been given the exact web address as well as their username and password. This test will count as their Monthly Book Report Reading grade.
Due Dates:

October 31
November 30
December 31
January 30
