Here is the work for Mrs. Ruddock's Year 10 German class.

Homework for Tuesday, 15 February: Prepare for written exercise at the top of p. 43. We will work on this draft on Tuesday and I will correct it for you.

Please include an example of ES GIBT (there is/are) or ES GAB (there was/were),

Include at least one MODAL such as ICH KANN / ICH KONNTE .... en (I can / I could) (ich kann schwimmen, ich kann nicht schwimmen), ICH MUSS / ICH MUSSTE .... en (I have to/ had to), ICH MÖCHTE (I would like to).

Include at least one FUTURE, such as ICH WERDE .... EN (I will), e.g. ICH WERDE MEHR SCHOKOLADE ESSEN (I will eat more chocolate.) You could also have ER WIRD, or SIE WERDEN.

Include at least one clause beginning with WEIL (because) or ALS (when -- in the past) or WENN - if. Be sure to put all verbs at the end.

Homework for Monday, 7 February:

Textbook, p. 35, Exercise 6. Write a review of a restaurant you ate at. Use the past tense to describe your experience. Include at least one criticism of the restaurant. For vocabulary, study p. 47 vocabulary, Eating Out.

Important idioms of the day:

Es gefällt mir. I like it. Es hat mir gefallen. I liked it. Die Tagessuppe hat uns besonders gefallen. We particularly liked the soup of the day.

Ich habe Milch gern. I like milk. Ich habe Bier lieber. I prefer beer, I like beer better. Am liebsten habe ich Wein. I like wine best, wine is my favorite.

Homework for Monday, 31 January:

Learn the past tenses of the verbs on the "Past Tense" handout. Be ready for a very brief quiz on Monday.

Do the exercises in your workbook on p. 16.
