The E. B. Stanley Middle School choral program is an elective, open to all seventh and eighth grade students. The E.B Stanley Choir is a performing, music theory, and music appreciation class. Performances are done for the school and the public. This performance is how students demonstrate their facts and skills.
Students will receive a class participation grade for each period. Participation and trying are the main goals. Some enter the program reading music and singing well, but their participation and work ethic make a difference.
Materials needed:Students will need a notebook, a pencil, and a positive attitude!
To better serve all of our students and to have a successful year, we have set forth the following rules:
1. Treat others with courtesy and respect.
2. Listen and follow instructions the first time.
3. If you have a question, raise your hand. Otherwise, please wait until a break or after class is over.
4. Take care of music and other materials.
5. NO GUM!!
6. Make an effort to attend all concerts and extra rehearsals.**
**Performance and practice dates are up on the class calendar avoid scheduling conflicts. There are three night performances during the school year, and every chorus member is needed for these programs. We would appreciate your help in seeing that your child is able to participate fully in our activities.
