Reflection assignments are autograded, so you will usually know immediately whether your answer is correct.
You may change your answers and try again until you get them correct.
The system allows unlimited attempts. Pro Tip: Use the drop down to go backwards and correct missed problems before submitting your assignment. If you hit submit before correcting missed problems, you will have to redo the assignment to earn 100%.
The goal is not to get everything right on the first try. The goal is to use the feedback, correct your mistakes, and learn the material.
⭐ Same-Day Bonus: +5 Points
You can earn 5 bonus points by completing a reflection and earning 100% on the same day it is assigned.
Example:
We teach lesson A2 and assign the A3 Reflection that day. If you complete the A3 Reflection before midnight that night, you earn 5 bonus points.
You do not have to complete every reflection on the day it is assigned. The same-day deadline is only for the bonus.
Regular Reflection Deadline
All reflections for a unit are due by midnight before the lesson for full credit. If you have until Sunday night, Home Access might show the deadline as Friday night because of system settings. My timeline has all the actual deadlines.
After the Deadline
You may still complete the assignment after the deadline during the late submission window. Maximum score for late submissions is 75%. Any extensions beyond the late submission window typically need a conversation with Mrs. Overman. Usually I want to see all of your open assignments completed before manually enabling very late submissions. 4
A Quick Homework Example
Suppose a reflection is worth 100 points.
Complete it the day it is assigned (see timeline) → 105 points
Complete it after the bonus day but by the regular deadline → up to 100 points
If you miss the deadline, complete the assignment in the time frame for up to 75 points.
Beyond the late submission deadline, have all of your other current assignments completed and meet with Mrs. Overman if an extension can be given.
