EMTALA: Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act Training. Understand your role in meeting the requirements of this federal law.

This training is mandatory for the following employee groups at Saint Joseph - Berea, Saint Joseph East, Saint Joseph Hospital, Saint Joseph - Jessamine, and Saint Joseph - Mount Sterling:
Emergency Department employees
Registration employees
House Administrators
Risk Management
Nursing Leadership
Information Desk employees and volunteers
Security employees
Draper Family Practice employees
Saint Joseph - Berea Family Medicine employees
Physicians at Bath Family Health and Gateway Surgical
OB employees

To review the course content and complete a quiz go to the Saint Joseph intranet, click on "Education", then in the top right corner click on "Educational E-learning Courses". You must read the entire course content and complete the quiz on your own. A score of 80% must be achieved to pass the quiz.
The course completion deadline is Monday, April 20, 2009. Individuals not completing the mandatory training by April 20 will not be permitted to work and will be subject to a Key 2 Corrective Action which results in receiving no merit pay increase. Exceptions will be made for those currently on leave. These individuals will need to complete the course immediately upon their return to work.

2. Locate the Quiz under Quia Activities (see below)
3. Take the Quiz: (The test has to be completed in one setting otherwise you will lose what you have done; it does not save until you are completely done, at the end hit the submit button.)
Step 1: Click on the Quiz
Step 2: Enter your LAST name, FIRST name; DEPARTMENT; and CAMPUS (Example: Doe, Jane; 4A; SJW)
